Whats the difference between SD and SDHC?

Posted Under Memory Card Guides By Dan at 4:00pm

Secure Digital (SD) cards are limited to a maximum size of 4Gb. For that reason SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) cards were introduced this year. An SDHC card can contain up to 32Gb of storage.

SDHC enabled devices are backwards compatible with the SD format, so if your device supports SDHC you can use both SD and SDHC cards. However, if your device only supports the SD format then SDHC cards will not work.
